Glitter

Hi all, I am going to enter this ATC into the challenge over at CRAFTS AND ME which this fortnight is Glitter. This is a set of stamps by Kanban that I just had to have. I have used black stickles on each of the flowers.

So long...

I cannot believe it has been a month since I was on my Blog.....where did October go to? To get myself back into posting on here I thought I would share an ATC that I made for my daughter, we sometimes set each other a theme and swap with each other, she picked cats as she is quite fond of them as I have quite a few cat stamps.

I have totally lost touch with the challenges out there but I'm guessing there has been quite a few Halloween ones. I was lucky to win some candy on The Stamp Man blog hop, a lovely set of messages by Hero Arts over on Janet's blog. My first blog candy win so I was really pleased. I loved what everyone did with their letters. I must go check out the latest challenge.

Hope you all have a happy Halloween.

The Stamp Man Challenge Blog hop

Wow, I've just been over to The Stamp Man Challenge Blog and they have a blog hop running until Thursday 7th October with prizes along the way. The first prize is Aspects of design Alluring Ladies, a set of gorgeous stamps I'd definitely like to play with. It's well worth a visit, I'm off now to find the second blog :) ....

Clean and simple

Hi, one of the challenges over at Crafty Cardmakers is to keep it clean and simple so thought I'd add this little card I made for a 5th Birthday. I popped up the present and used copics on the image. Thanks to my friend Michelle for the image :)

Crafty again

Hi, it's been far too long since I've crafted properly and posted on here. But when we got together for out crafty meet in the week I managed to finish a bookmark I made for the challenges at Lets Ink it Up and also Tuesday Taggers. Lets Ink it Up are asking for a vintage tag or bookmark and I had fun with my distress inks and a favourite stamp from the Artistic Stamper. The theme this week at Tuesday Taggers is Books, something made based on a book, using an image with a book in, altering a book etc. I love using bright reds.

Thanks for looking :)

A little bit of yellow...

After making my scene ATC earlier I carried on while the inks were out and made a swap for a friend over at Docrafts, she'd had a good look in my gallery over there and picked out 2 she really liked so I've tried to make them similar. I shall enter this into the very first challenge over at Let's Ink it Up, anything goes with a little yellow.

I coloured the flowers then clear embossed them so I could ink all around then I cut a circle out of a post-it note to colour through for the sun and then used the punch out to cover it up while I inked the sky and hills. The bird is from a gorgeous set by Katzelkraft.

So very last minute...

Hi, I saw the theme over at Tuesday Taggers this week and was keen to have a go, it's Sea, Water or Boats. Well with only 2 hours left on the challenge I have made an ATC this evening and just taken a photo. I really prefer taking photo's in natural light but it's turned out better than I thought it would. Anyway, here it is...

I have used a few of my many Stampscape stamps and I'd forgotten how much fun it is to build up a picture. I have used my usual Impress inks and sponges for the background. Thanks for looking.

Zentangle

I haven't had a doodle for a while but the challenge over at Lots to Do is Zentangle so I thought I'd have a go, just in time too as the challenge closes later on today. I like to doodle over backgrounds I have made up and this one was a shaving foam one I did ages ago.

I think the little creature at the bottom looks like a scared eel, is that a wide-eyed frog off to the side or a shark about to eat him up?

Thanks for looking.

Lets Ink it Up

I love blog hopping to my friend Annette's blog Netty's Craftings, she has such gorgeous creations and is such an inspiration to many. Whilst there I see she is to be on the design team for the new challenge blog Let's Ink It Up. The first challenge will start on 22nd August and they are offering some lovely blog candy as they get more and more followers.....this is on offer at the moment...

You can find these gorgeous stamps and more over at Anna Belle Stamps

Now if they can reach 300 followers they are offering 4 gorgeous sets of stamps and these are from KLM Digital Designs and Stamps

Can't wait for the new challenges to start :)

Colour challenge

Hi, I am just starting to follow colour challenges and I must admit I like them. This one I made for the Play Date Cafe Challenge of Brown, green and beige. I stamped a few of the flowers in black too, I hope that was ok.

The colours in this ATC remind me of the autumn colours that are just around the corner. We haven't had a very good summer, I think our summer has moved to 2 weeks in spring! I do love autumn though and winter too.

Adorable ATC

Hi, here is a really cute and adorable kitten in a basket of flowers I made. I am going to enter it into Speedy the cats challenge which is Think Flowers this week. I'll also enter it into the cats challenge over at Drunken Stampers

I used the Stampin Up Stamp-a-ma-jig to get the cat sitting nicely in the basket then stamped and masked the flowers all around her. I stamped a few extra and popped them up. The flower stamp in the background is a lovely real flower from Hero Arts called wild delphinium.

Thanks for looking :)

Recipe challenge

I made this for a swap to take with me to the Loughborough Docrafts meet on Saturday and I followed the recipe challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers which is to use yellow or orange; punches or stickers; and an animal or a fish. I think my goldfish looks rather grumpy, maybe it's because he can't fit in his house! lol

The background is made using the shaving foam technique and I've used a little punch to punch the fishes in the background from acrylic painted watercolour paper. The grasses are from a wonderful little Stampin Up set of stamps.

Happy Birthday Lisa

It was my good friend Lisa's Birthday this week and I know how much she loves her Stampotique stamps, so using images I'd stamped at hers I made this for her....

It's a gate fold card and the little cat's head holds it closed. I have made the backing card by spraying Golden Fish and Meadow Lush cosmic shimmer mists. Anyone that knows me knows that my 2 favourite colours are orange and green and I can never resist using them together. As I have used only the 2 colours here I'm going to enter it into the Stamp Man's challenge #2 Take 2 colours.
Thanks for looking.

You make me smile ATC

I made this for a hosted swap over on Docrafts, it was supposed to be a RAK for the hostess but got sent out as a swap so I had to make her another RAK.

I stamped the background stamp with a Big & Juicy pad  then washed over it with a wet brush to give the muted colours. I then over-stamped with stamps from the v2 flourishes by Autumn Leaves.

Thanks for looking :)

Black & White and 1 other colour

I liked the challenge over at Sweat Pea Stampers this week and of course I had to use one of my favourite colours as the one other colour. Here's the card I am entering...

Easel cards

I tried making easel cards for the first time this week and made 9 thank you cards for school. I shall enter this one into the spotlight challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers The image is a Penny Black stamp called Buzz in the air and I coloured it in using copics. The flowers are Flora Doodles by Petaloo.

Here are some of the other cards I made...

Lavender and Lime

I've been very busy this week making thank you cards for the teachers. This is the first one I made and I will be entering this into the challenge over at Inkurable Stampers as their challenge this month is Lavender and Lime. The image is a cute one from Penny Black called arrangement and is coloured using copics, with impress ink sponged around the edges. I added punched flowers using a woodware daisy punch and an Xcut embossing punch.

Flower ATC

For me summer time means flowers and the brighter the better. I love all those reds, oranges and yellows contrasting beautifully with the greens. Here's an ATC I made for a swap over at Docrafts. I've used a pressed and dried flower and leaf so it will certainly be treasured forever.

I am going to enter it into Sir Stampalot July challenge - Lazy Hazy Days of Summer
also at Papertake Weekly - In the garden Challenge
and at Fun with ATCs - Flowers

Thanks for looking,

Tha Stamp Man swap - wings

Seems such a long time since I've posted on here, it's fast approaching end of term and I don't seem to have much spare time, we had 3 fantastic reports for our children and a great parents evening last night with two more tomorrow. I finally got round to backing up my swaps and here are 2 more I will be sending off for the Stamp Man swap this month (I'll send the last card Big Birds too)

Double craft day again this week!

Woo-hoo, I get to have two craft sessions again this week. Lisa came round mine today and we had fun getting inky. I was very good and backed up 3 ATCs that just had to go off in the post today, I am terrible at deadlines and have had to send them first class as they are due in tomorrow (I only made them last night and today!!) I then had a play and made this...

I decided to call it Big Birds.

I'm getting my alcohol inks out now and I'm off to have a play :)

Crafting together

Crafting together with Lisa and Michelle every week is fun, but this week Michelle couldn't make Tuesday so I tried to re-arrange for Thursday but Lisa couldn't make it that day. So I was the lucky one that got to have 2 crafting sessions this week :) Tuesday at Lisa's and yesterday at Michelle's house.

Here's what I made on Tuesday...
the one at the end was a happy mistake, I didn't mean to stamp her face but after catching her slightly I stamped away, and decided she'd be called Tattooed :) The background on the first one was stamped using a Big & Juicy pad then I used a watercolour brush all over. The middle one is one of Lisa's smackin' acetate backgrounds and the last I inked all around her with sponges.

After nearly making a Birthday card at Michelle's I went on to make a punched ATC...

...quite different to the first three :)

Punching again

I had to put the finishing touches to a friend's Birthday card today that I started yesterday, flowers yet again, but I just love the summery DCWV glitter backing paper and I made use of Michelle's gorgeous Martha Stewart punches (they are fantastic punches) This is the first time I've made a three fold card and I'm really pleased with how it turned out. The Happy Birthday sentiment is a Stampin Up one.

As it's different to my summer tub ATC I shall be entering it into the Sir Stampalot punch challenge for this month.

Another Birthday

My eldest daughter is now 9, the years are really flying by. We had a lovely weekend together and I took her and her 2 best friends to the cinema to see The Tooth Fairy, a very good, funny film, we all enjoyed it. This is the card I made her...

...and I shall enter it into the Crafts & Me Birthdays Challenge. The image is another from Sweet Pea stamped by my friend Lisa. Hope you like it :)

Sweet Lady

I am always over at Docrafts and I have made some lovely friends over there. I can be found chatting on the ATC forum. They are a lovely bunch of ladies and whenever someone needs a little cheering up you can guarantee there will be someone there to help. This is a RAK I made for a lady over there, I think the purples (even though they look more blue on the photo!) and yellows will be sure to bring a smile. I love that set of stamps and even though I can use them at Lisa's I just know that I will have to have them!! You can find them over at The Stamp Man :) It's a set called Butterfly Beauties, isn't it gorgeous?

For a dear friend...

I started these over at our crafty session at Lisa's on Thursday and finished them the weekend, I really enjoyed using my H2Os for the first time in a very long time. They are for a friend over at Docrafts where I swap most of my ATCs, hope she likes them :)
I look forward so much to the weekly crafting session with Lisa and Michelle, it's lovely playing with all those extra stamps! A big thank you to Lisa for these 2 gorgeous backgrounds.

Punching

I love using punches and can't resist buying new ones. I had fun making this summer tub ATC using an X-cut small flower punch and a tiny leaf punch I have. The tub is from a set of stamps by Card-io. Dragonflies, grass and crackle are stamped on a brayered background.

I used pebebo volume touch for the centre of the flowers and puffed it up by heating with a heat gun. I will enter this in the Sir Stampalot Challenge

Hello all :)

Encouraged by my good friend Lisa, I finally got round to making my blog. I'm hoping that this will encourage me to switch off my computer and get crafting! I have many, many stamps just screaming out to be stamped for the first time and my inks will be drying up if I neglect them any longer, lol. So, fingers crossed I don't get too distracted blog hopping to some gorgeous pages out there, and hopefully I'll very soon be uploading my new cards.

Thanks for dropping by,
Kay :)
